Northern Secrets & Dark Skies Tours - a perfect fit

Northern Secrets, our parent company, is an award-winning travel company, dedicated to creating the best experiences within Northern Britain.

It is only fitting that Dark Skies Tours picks up from this philosophy in creating extraordinary experiences around our dark skies…

Today, Northern Secrets, remains independently owned by Alex Jacobs who, alongside a small dedicated team, continues to create some of the best travel arrangements to Northern England, Scotland and North Wales.

Northern Secrets & ABout Us

Thought-provoking, educational and entertaining, our Dark Skies tours are experiences which will forever change the way you see the night sky.

Our trips don’t come off the shelf, there’s no set recipe – they’re tailor-made down to the finest detail around your tastes and interests.

Quite simply, we listen to what you want and then carefully design an individual trip to match, working to your budget and with an absolute commitment to quality.

We allow time to offer a more personal, caring and tailored tour experience made with love, time and ultimate satisfaction.

Want to spend more time in a particular destination? We are happy to arrange that for you? Any special interests?

Let us do the research and present you with the experience…

Looking after our planet is our priority

Our mission is to preserve and look after the places we cherish most.

By doing so, we can sustainably offer you, our guests, a fantastic experience in the knowledge that we are doing our upmost to help secure these experiences for the future.

We have teamed up with several partners such as Ecologi, to create a sustainable approach to tourism.

Sustainable Travel

At nearly 580 square miles, our dark sky zone, known as Northumberland and Kielder Water and Forest International Dark Sky Park, is the second largest area of protected night sky in Europe, and achieved this status thanks to the International Dark Skies Association, the leading international organisation working to combat light pollution worldwide. Becoming a Dark Sky Park means that our night skies will be kept free from light pollution and we can create more opportunities for people to be inspired by the stars.
